Pittsford Park Summer Concert!
My second interviewing gig of the summer took place at Pittsford Park near Orange County in Lake Forest, California. Pittsford Park was holding a free summer concert series throughout June, and I went up there on June 24 for some interviews! Melinda Doolittle from American Idol and Youtube Sensation Kina Grannis were both performing, and many other stars came out to support them and start their summer off perfectly. Melinda was from Season 6 of the show with Blake ?Lewis, Jordin Sparks, and the teeny bopper heartthrob Sanjaya Malakar. It was an honor to interview Melinda Doolittle because we had been planning this for six months, and since she lives in Tennessee, of course I jumped at this opportunity! Melinda gave me a great interview filled with American idol gossip about Simon Cowell, how she keep sin touch with her former contestants, her focus for her next album, and much more. I also was able to interview Emily Grace Reaves, Roxy Fisher, Sean Michael Afable, Victoria Strauss, and Sophia Strauss about their acting and charity work. Fashion Destination Extravaganza
I kicked off my interview-filled summer with a fashion show hosted by the Fashion Destination Group. The show took place on June 9, 2012, at the St. Regis Hotel in the beautiful Dana Point. The fashion show went all day with models from Macy's, television, and YouTube. The models walked two red carpets, one for still pictures with at least ten photographers, then one with video press.The fashion designer Marisa Kenson did a great job styling everyone for the cat walk! The event consisted of three fashion shows with performances in between. The popular boy band IM5 performed, and the Beadles siblings closed for the first fashion show. Overall, this was a fun event because it was my first fashion show and more formal than past events I have been to. I was able to interview four VIP guests: Christian Beadles (Youtube Sensation), Caitlin Beadles (Youtube Sensation), Brandon Tyler Russell (Smitty), and Elizabeth Wentworth (My Mom is Obsessed). Rockin a Cure For CF 3
We became one step closer to curing cystic fibrosis right here in Orange County on May 5, 2012! A charity concert and red carpet event was held at the Vault, the same location where Brooklyn Haley had her music video release party. We were lucky to have two great hosts, Tony Smith, father of Cheyenne in the picture who has CF, and Michelle Parimore. The event kicked off with media and KGR Photography, and then continued with performances from young recording artists and speakers. Some names that performed were Mozaik, Sklya Rayne, Ariel Fournier, Paris Smith, Ariana Sloan, Yana Ted, and many more. Attendess bidded on auction items such as autographs from Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Cody Simpson, and Adam Lambert - with all proceeds going to fund research for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Brooklyn Haley's J-14 Music Video Release Party
On February 11, 2012, I attended Brooklyn Haley's music video release party and Valentines Bash at the Vault in Orange County. J-14 magazine, the most popular teen celebrity magazine around, was there taking pictures of the stars walking the red carpet! A lot of my friends walked the red carpet including Jolie Vanier, Jack Griffo, Kaley Bowler, and Tina Nguyen. The event was raising money for Pencils of Promise, an organization that helps put less fortunate children into newly built schools. Although I didn't interview at this event, I had a blast watching performances by Olivia Faye, Diamante Bovelli, Mozaik, Steal the Scenery, Adam Whittington, Madison Logan, and of course Brooklyn Haley. Kids Help CHOC
On August 14, 2011, I attended my very first celebrity charity event at the Hilton Anaheim, about a minute away from the famous Disneyland. This event was before I had started interviewing, but it definitely helped me get into the interviewing business. The event was raising money for Children's Hospital of Orange County, and included a carnival with bounce houses, performances, great refreshments, a penguin and sloth, toys to purchase for children at the hospital, and celebrity guests. This event had so many celebrity guests it was hard to keep track of who was there! Some of the people I met were Christian Beadles, Brandon Tyler Russell, Kelli Goss, Savvy and Mandy, Stefanie Scott, Temara Melek, Mikey Reid, and many more. After the stars spent time taking pictures and autographs with the fans, great performances were given by 2 U Neek, Jordan Jansen, Mandy Rain, and Austin Anderson. This event was definitely one of my favorites, and I hope it is a great success in the coming years!
